Directly at the official start of the season, two consecutive Development Camps took place in the indoor domes in the Netherlands and the UAE. To accommodate teams the camps were followed by two Slopestyle competitions and the first-ever FIS-sanctioned Rail competitions.

This early start, combined with competitions allows developing athletes not only to train, but also to compete with peers from various nations. This situation very obviously increases the athletes skills, while at the same time boosting their confidence. Some were even awarded by the much sought for points to compete on Continental Cup level.

Once again, it is great to see athletes from various nations and different cultures befriend by sharing their passion for the sport. This passion leads to snowboarders and freeskiers from nations like Greece, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, Ukraine, Estonia, Latvia, Serbia, Macedonia, Slovenia and Lithuania find their way to practice their sports despite not always having the easiest opportunities in their countries.
