Passing of former Committee member Paul Einar Borgen

It’s with profound sadness that FIS learned of the passing of Paul Einar Borgen at the age of 66.

Borgen served as the deputy chair of the Nordic Combined Committee of the Norwegian Ski Federation for eight years and was a distinguished former member of the FIS Nordic Combined Committee.

Lasse Ottesen, FIS Nordic Combined Race Director, expressed his heartfelt condolences, saying, "Paul was deeply engaged in the national and international development of Nordic Combined. He was a genuine enthusiast of the sport, leaving an indelible mark on the sport. His absence will be deeply felt."

Linda Svendsrud, the current deputy chair of the Nordic Combined Committee of the Norwegian Ski Federation, emphasized Borgen's significant contributions, noting his pivotal role in advancing women's participation in Nordic Combined and implementing cost-saving measures to support smaller nations.

FIS extends its sincerest condolences to the friends, family, and former colleagues of Paul Einar Borgen during this difficult time.
