Saalbach 2025: 365-Day Countdown Began
Feb 05, 2024·Inside FISOn Sunday, February 4th, the 365-Day Countdown for the FIS Alpine Ski World Championships 2025 in Saalbach began. From February 4th to 16th 2025, the world's best skiers will compete in eleven events for the coveted world championship medals. The women will kick off the competitions with the first downhill training at the legendary 12er Kogel in Hinterglemm.
To kick off the countdown for this unique event and to announce the start of ticket sales appropriately, a special event took place last weekend.
Under the motto "Welcome back - Saalbach 1991," Austrian Saalbach heroes from 1991, including world champion Petra Kronberger, double world champion Stephan Eberharter, silver medalist Thomas Stangassinger, bronze medalist Günther Mader, bronze medalist Anita Wachter, and many other ski legends gathered for a joint ski race with children from the Saalbach Hinterglemm ski club.
The weekend concluded with a cozy evening event, during which the "1991 athletes" exchanged memories in a relaxed atmosphere, and the anticipation for the upcoming 2025 Ski World Championships in Saalbach became tangible.
During a press conference, Florian Phleps, project coordinator for Saalbach 2025, also outlined the goal for this "flagship project of the ÖSV".
February 4th also marked the start of the official ticket sales for the FIS Alpine Ski World Championships 2025.
