This summer, FIS announced its intentions to launch two new initiatives after restructuring the FIS Solidarity and Snow Kidz programmes. The first of them, the FIS Plus Programme, has now been successfully launched.

The project aims to support activities that complement our ongoing offerings, such as the widely successful development camps.

Both established and developing National Ski Associations (NSAs) will benefit from working with FIS experts to deliver sessions and provide support for existing schemes.

Kick Off Coaches Education, which will see instructors partnered with nations, allows us to continue opening doors for all members.

In addition, FIS will provide the necessary equipment to help deliver relevant activities for children and young people. This is essential for securing the future of respective disciplines.

Those who emphasise the importance of sustainability and integrity will also be reviewed with particular interest and potentially awarded for their contribution to the programme.

In the run-up to this announcement, FIS Plus has also made a significant donation of 70 roller skis to 15 NSAs – across three regions - with active Nordic Combined athletes.

The donation will allow those in question the opportunity to further practice and enhance their skills in something that remains a key focus at FIS. The idea is that this will strengthen the two-sport discipline across nations and maintain its standing as a medal event at the Winter Olympic Games.

Importantly, the donation will span across multiple seasons to further show our commitment to providing long-term support for growth within the sport.

FIS would like to extend its congratulations to the successful applicants. Once all programmes have been delivered, they will be published on our Membership Hub.

This month also saw the launch of the FIS Start Programme and its opening for applications from interested NSAs.
