Aki Murasato
Aki Murasato (JPN) has been member of the FIS Council since 2014 when he was elected by Congress in Barcelona. In 2016, at the 50th FIS Congress in Cancun, he was elected Vice-President.
Murasato joined the FIS Council with impressive international experience.
He is currently the Executive Director of International Relations for Sports and Games Operations for the Organizing Committee of the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. In addition, he serves as the Vice Chairman of International Relations for the Japanese Olympic Committee.
On the snow, Murasato has equally impressive experience. He is a Council member of the Ski Association of Japan in addition to serving as the Chairman of International Relations. He is also the Vice-President of the Ski Association of Iwate. Murasato is also a Council Member of the Japan Anti-Doping Agency and works on the Continental level as a Member of the Sports Committee for the Olympic Council of Asia.
Murasato is also the Chairman of Committee for Competition Equipment for FIS in addition to his duties as a Council Member. He has ample experience in the ski world, getting his start as the Swiss Alpine Ski Team Attache at the 1972 Sapporo Olympic Winter Games. In addition he was the Sport Director of the 1993 FIS Alpine World Ski Championship.
