Dexter Paine

Dexter Paine (USA) served on the FIS Council as Vice-President from 2014 to 2022 and was once again elected by the FIS Congress in Reykjavik (ISL) in 2024.  He also currently serves as the Chairman of the FIS Para Snow Sports Committee. 

A former ski racer, Paine has served on U.S. Ski & Snowboard's governance committees since 2002, holding the position as President of the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Team Foundation, the fundraising arm of the team, from 2002-2006. He then became Chairman of the Board of U.S. Ski & Snowboard, a position he held for 13 years, where he currently is the Honorary Chair and Ex-Officio Board Member. He joined and currently serves on the U.S. Biathlon Board of Directors in 2020. He was appointed to the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee board of directors and began serving as a National Governing Bodies Council representative in January 2021. He is also chairman of the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee Finance Committee. 

Paine has also served as a member of the executive committee for both the 2015 FIS World Alpine Ski Championships in Vail/Beaver Creek and the 2019 World Freeski, Freestyle, and Snowboard Championships in Utah. 

Professionally, Paine has over 30 years of investment experience in the food and agribusiness sectors and is Chairman and Founder of Paine Schwartz Partners. Before co-founding Paine Schwartz Partners in 2006, he co-founded the Predecessor Firm, Fox Paine & Company, in 1997 and served as President from its inception until December 2007. Previously, he was with Kohlberg & Company, which he joined in 1994 to establish and headed that firm's West Coast office.
