Michael Huber (AUT), a Kitzbühel native and current President of the organizing committee of the International Hahnenkamm Races, was elected by the FIS Congress in Reykjavik (ISL) in 2024.  He is the third generation of his family to be involved in winter sports — in particular ski racing — and is considered an unequivocal ski expert.

Prior to his election to the FIS Council, Michael was involved in various FIS Committees. He is the Chairman of the Sub-Committee for Alpine Rules since 2010, a member of the Promotion Committee since 2015, and a member of the Sub-Committee for Alpine World Cup since 2022.

On the academic level, after completing a basic commercial training at the Kitzbühel Commercial Academy, Michael graduated in sports sciences, acquiring a Ph.D. with his dissertation on the "Development of racing in alpine skiing - analysis and structural data" in 1998.
