Bill Demong started skiing at the age of five and made his World Cup debut in Vuokatti in 1999. In 2011, the man from Park City, USA, celebrated his first World Cup victory in Liberec. In the course of his career, Bill collected an impressive amount of medals, including the titles of World Champion and Olympic Champion in Individual Gundersen races.

But Billy also had to work his way through setbacks during his career: In 2002, he fractured his skull by diving into a shallow pool and had to work his way back to the top after a seven-inch fracture from his orbital bone to the crown of his skull. During the team event at the World Championships, he famously misplaced his bib and cost his teammates the change to fight for a medal.

In the end, Billy came out on top: After winning the Gold medal at the Olympic Games in 2010, he proposed to his girlfriend Katie. The couple got married in summer 2010 and in January 2011, Katie gave birth to their first child, a son called Liam. In his leisure time, Billy likes to go fishing, hunting, mountain biking and telemark skiing.
