The Nordic Combined national team of the Austrian Ski Federation is in for an endurance camp in Längefeld, Tyrol. After four days of jumping training at Bergisel in Innsbruck and Natters, the team came to stay at the Aqua Dome in Längenfeld on the past Monday.

Extensive endurance sessions were the focus of the week, which the coaching team tried to hold in a varied manner: a ski roller tour on top of the Timmelsjoch, a via ferrata at the Lehner waterfall an extensive mountain our to the Gaislachkogel and active regeneration at the thermal spring.

Lukas Klapfer joined the team after finishing his education period as a customs officer. “I had an extended period of vocational training as a customs officer from the beginning of May until Mid-June, so this is my first camp with the team”, the PyeongChang bronze medal winner told. “I had some endurance sessions during this time and made my first jumps at the Bergisel last week. It felt great. It’s great fun to be back and train with the team, the motivation just goes up. And the waterslides at the Aquadome definitely bring out the kid in me!”

The team concluded the training camp with a bungee jump off the Europabrücke.

Willi Denifl: I really like it, a camp at home is always something special. It was an exhausting week with many different training sessions. It’s perfect to be able to regenerate after in the same place.”
