Germany’s Jakob Lange will have to step back from professional sports for an indefinite period due to health reasons, as he announced on his Facebook page.

The 22-year-old stated the following: “Deeply frustrated, I have to announce that due to health problems, I will have to take time off from professional sports and World Cup competitions.”

Lange started in 50 World Cup events so far, with a fourth place in Sapporo (JPN) in 2017 as his best result. In addition, he has five medals from Junior World Championships 2013-15, among them a gold medal with the team in Liberec in 2013. Lange had injured his knee during a crash during the Nordic Combined Triple in Seefeld in 2017.
