Big honour for Eric Frenzel: the reigning Olympic Champion and five-time World Cup overall winner has been nominated together with four other German athletes to be a possible flag-bearer for the German team in PyeongChang.

Out of 154 nominated athletes, the council of the German Olympic Committee (DOSB) shortlisted Frenzel, Ice Hockey player and NHL veteran  Christian Ehrhoff, luge’s Natalie Geisenberger, speed skating legend Claudia Pechstein and alpine skiing ace Viktoria Rebensburg.

The German public can vote for their favourites until the 4th of February. If you’d like to support the Nordic Combined superstar, you can vote here: https://www.teamdeutschland.de/de/fahnentraeger.html

The result will be calculated from the public vote and a vote by the athletes of Team Germany. The athletes with the most percentages of the votes received the honour. The flag-bearer will be presented on the 8th of February.
