Sports Director Tami Kiuru was pleased to report: „Short and concise, I am pleased to say that both hills are in excellent condition. During the whole winter, we have made a total of approximately 100 000 cubic meters of snow. In nature, there is snow of only approximately 15cm.“

Also on the cross-country side, things are right on track. All the competition courses (North 5,0km and South 5,0km) are now covered by artificial snow. The thickness of the snow layer is minimum 40 cm along the course and in some places even 100cm, including the stadium. The width of the prepared course is 6-12m.

In addition to this basic preparation, the construction of the venue and diverse improvements are in full action and the on-site advertising is in the process of being put up.

Cross-country snow controller and Assistant Chief of Course Annmari Viljanmaa concludes:

"In conclusion, snow conditions are very good at the moment but we will still continue our work to prepare the courses even better. We are doing our very best to well come all the skiing family and friends to Lahti WSC 2017!"
