Haavard KLEMETSEN

Haavard Klemetsen started with Nordic Combined when he was seven years old, supported by his father who accompanied him to most competitions. Haavard has been a member of the World Cup circus since 2003, when he debuted in Oberhof, Germany. Being born in Kautokeino, Norway, he is from the Sami part of the population and became the first Sami to have won the Norwegian championships in 2005.
According to his motto "Better late than never", Haavard achieved his first World Cup win at 32 years of age, when he managed to emerge victorious in an Individual Gundersen competition held in Lillehammer in 2011. Since then, the Norwegian has only gotten stronger and stronger, adding six more podium results including a sensational second place in the premiere edition of the Nordic Combined TRIPLE in Seefeld in 2014, a feat he repeated at the second edition in 2015.
Klemetsen, who has stood on the very top of the podium in Team Events and Team Sprints significantly more often than in the individuals, crowned his lists of merits with a team gold medal at the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi in 2014. He extended his medal collection with a team silver and Team Sprint bronze from the World Championships in Falun in 2015.
His hobbies are fishing, soccer, golf, sled driving and telemark skiing.
