Janis Morweiser's way into Nordic Combined was started by his brother Fabian who took him ski jumping in Oberstdorf with him when Janis was ten years old. There, he came into contact with Nordic Combined for the first time and liked the concept of combining ski jumping and cross-country so much that he decided to stick with it. In 2005, Janis took a little detour to "special" ski jumping when he was not having that much fun cross-country skiing anymore but noticed that something was missing and he was not ready to let Nordic Combined go.

Never one to dwell long on past decisions as his motto: "Never regret something when you were happy while you were doing it" says, he went back and was rewarded with his international debut in 2009 and his first World Cup start in Chaux-Neuve in 2010. Since then, the resident of Freiburg has competed in numerous competitions in World and Continental Cup. In his spare time, Morweiser likes to chill out and climb.
