Jarl Riiber continued his domination of the ski jumping aspect of the Nordic Combined World Cup in Seefeld today. Even with a, to his own standards, jump that was far from optimal, the 19-year-old showed 107.5 metres from gate 16 which gave him 144.2 points and a 17-second lead on the runner-up Johannes Rydzek.

Rydzek, who had struggled with his jumping for some weeks now, hit a great jump to also 107.5 metres but started from gate 18. Still, only 17 seconds on the track would put Rydzek in the position of the massive favourite for a cross-country race, should the PCR have to be used in case of adverse weather conditions, especially given the fact that arch rival Eric Frenzel ranked only eighth with 48 seconds to make up on the leader Riiber.

Samuel Costa held the third position today with 104 metres and 20 second of time disadvantage for the track (139.4 p.), World Champion Berni Gruber was back with position four and 100.5 metres (+0:25). Other TRIPLE favourites from the Top Ten of the World Cup were Fabian Rießle (15th, +1:05) and Akito Watabe (9th, +0:49).

All athletes start in the 5 km Individual Gundersen event tomorrow and only the best 50 of this competition will advance to the second day of the TRIPLE, taking their scores with them.
