Magnus MOAN

Magnus Moan has always been a sports enthusiast and only decided to put his athletic focus on Nordic Combined when he was 16 years old. Before that, he explored all kinds of different sports like athletics and soccer in addition to ski jumping and cross-country skiing. Up until today, he is a big fan of outdoor activities like cycling, telemark skiing, golf and soccer. He also likes to go on trips into the mountains with his family, namely wife Irene and sons Henrik and Ludvig. In addition to that, Magnus is passionate about motorsports. He likes cars and motorbikes, especially Harley-Davidson.

In his athletic career, the Norwegian compiled an impressive amount of titles and can surely be called one of the current legends of the sport. In his medal collection, one can find gold, silver and bronze medals from Individual, Team Sprint and Team Events at World Championships in Oberstdorf 2005, Sapporo 2007, Liberec 2009, Oslo 2011, Val di Fiemme 2013, Falun 2015 and Lahti 2017 and also a silver and a bronze medal from the 2006 Olympic Games in Torino.

The season of 2013/14 proved to be a comeback season for Magnus who had suffered through some difficult years before. Together with his strong Norwegian team, he was always among the athletes to be counted in for podiums and victories and finally crowned his season with an individual silver and a team gold medal at the Olympic Games in Sochi 2014.

In the winter of 2014/15, Moan contined with two more World Cup victories in Chaux-Neuve and in his hometown of Trondheim, putting him at a total of 24 World Cup victories and rank six in the all-time best list of Nordic Combined. Following up with another victory in 2015/16, he is now only one victory short of Bjarte Engen Vik, the most successful Norwegian Nordic Combined athlete in the history of the discipline.
