Nordic Combined Awards nominations

With the season finals in Schonach coming up, it is also soon time for the Nordic Combined Awards again. Going into their third edition in the season 2017/18, the annual awards have become something of a fixture on the Nordic Combined calendar, especially combined with a last honouring of the overall World Cup winner and the winning nation of the Nations Cup.

10 media representatives from different country, who report on the Nordic Combined World Cup for different magazines, webpages and TV stations comprise the jury who elects the winner in four different categories: Athlete of the Year, Rookie of the Year

Moment of the Year and Coach of the Year.

And the nominees 2017/18 are:

Athlete of the Year:

- Akito Watabe

- Eric Frenzel

- Johannes Rydzek

- Jan Schmid

Rookie of the Year:

- Espen Andersen

- Eero Hirvonen

- Vinzenz Geiger

- Kristjan Ilves

Moment of the Year:

- Germany swipes Olympic podium for the first tome since 1936

- Watabe finally wins the World Cup after finishing on the podium for six years in a row

Coach of the Year:

- Hermann Weinbuch

- Petter Kukkonen

- Takanori Kohno

The Nordic Combined Awards and the final party will take place on Sunday, 25th of March at the Haus des Gastes in Schonach and start at 19:00. The event is open to the public and entrance is free.
