By the numbers for Nordic combined, which begins Wednesday 14 February with the Gundersen normal hill/10km at the Alpensia Ski Jumping Centre.

1988 - The Nordic combined competition at the Olympic Winter Games consisted of a single event until 1988 when a team event was added. The competition was further expanded in 2002 when a second individual event joined the curriculum.

93 - different men have won an Olympic medal in Nordic combined.

35 - The oldest gold medallist in Olympic Nordic combined is Havard KLEMETSEN (NOR) who won a gold medal in the team event in 2014, when he was 35 years and 46 days old.

30 - Norway has won the most medals of all NOCs in this sport, 30 in total (G13-S9-B8).

17 - Anssi KOIVURANTA (FIN) was 17 years old when he took bronze in the men's relay event in 2006. He is still the youngest Olympic medal winner in this sport.
