Snow Controller Jyri Pelkonen has delivered the first of two snow control reports from the Finnish season opening venue of Ruka.

“It looks pretty good for the Nordic Opening at Ruka. 4,5 km of race tracks have already been prepared. There is enough snow in the snow storage to finish the stadium and the last uphill. This will be done by Friday this week, after all containers needed at the stadium have been installed. The weather prognosis is nice and if needed, the staff at Ruka has the opportunity to produce more snow in the next few days.”

Next to the works on the cross-country track, the HS 142 Rukatunturi hill is already in use for training purposes. Snow controller Pekka Hyvärinen confirmed the events also for the jumping hill in the second snow control report, giving the final green light for the event.
