After being sidelined by a shoulder injury for several months, Norwegian shooting star Jarl Riiber made his competition comeback in the Norges Cup in Trondheim on the past Saturday.

Playing on his usual jumping strength, Riiber started into the race with a healthy advantage of one minute and 46 seconds on runner-up Simen Tiller. Riiber showed 99.5 metres on Trondheims HS 105 hill, Tiller landed at 95 metres. Youngster Jens Lurås Oftebro impressed with 93 metres and the intermediate third position, which he shared with Jan Schmid.

In the race, veteran Magnus Moan stepped on the gas pedal and set the fastest time of 25:21 for the 10 km race. He came close to Riiber, who only had the eighth fastest time to show for but was able to get to the finish line with an advantage of eleven second in the end. Jan Schmid held the third rank (+00:36), Magnus Krog improved from position 13 to rank four with a time of 25:26. Jørgen Graabak was fifth and youngster Oftebro claimed a very good sixth position in the end.

In the ladies category, the jumping event was won by Thea Øihaugen, who jumped 65 metres. Mari Leinan Lund was second, Marte Leinan Lund held the intermediate third position. In the race, however, Leinan Lund made up a one minute and 16 second-time difference to win the competition in the end. A skiing time of 18:48 had her cross the finish line first after five kilometres of racing and take the victory away from Øihaugen (+0:11). Mari Leinan Lund just finished one second later.

In the junior category, Trym Brandsegg-Lein won ahead of Johan Fredriksen Orset and Andreas Ottesen.
