This week the capable staff at Mayo Clinic, Minneapolis is sharing techniques and showing training regimens to the coaches and national team athletes of USA Nordic.

Six coaches who have traveled from Europe join six American coaches, all representing USA Nordic, along with virtually all of the American athletes are together on the spectacular campus of Mayo Clinic.

The women's and men's ski jumping and nordic combined teams convene after a brief, post Olympic break to gear up for the upcoming year of exciting, international competition. USA Nordic Executive Director, Billy Demong, is on hand to lead the delegation which aims to absorb all the knowledge that the Mayo Clinic medical professionals have to disseminate.

Within three, action packed days, they are engaging in force-play testing, field testing, upper body ergonomics, V02 Max, trunk stability and overall flexibility. Additionally, athletes and coaches are enjoying the state-of-the-art sport science teachings of sports psychology as a unified team and fuelling their minds and bodies with sports nutrition classes.

“Receiving these hands-on, eye-to-eye, training tips and tricks from health care professionals is invaluable. We feel like we’re being given a real edge on our competition having this premier facility right here in the United States.” said Clint Jones, USA Nordic Team Director.

In the following days, Team USA Nordic will immediately apply everything they’ve worked on in the city as they travel up to the beautiful Coleraine, MN jumping venue to create the opportunity to jump like they’ve never jumped before.
