Battle of the veterans | FIS Nordic Combined

Germany's Björn Kircheisen and Austria's Willi Denifl have one thing in common: both veterans are pushing the limit for the most World Cup starts in Nordic Combined. In this edition of "Behind the Scenes" we found out if they are aware of their record holder status and how their younger teammates relate to them. Nordic Combined is a winter sport in which athletes compete in both cross-country skiing and ski jumping. The first major competition in Nordic combined was held in 1892 in Oslo at the first Holmenkollen Ski Festival, an event still held annually. The sport was included at the 1924 Winter Olympics, and has been on the programme ever since.
