After the double victory of Paul Gerstgraser and Philipp Orter in the Individual competition on Friday, the two Austrians were also unstoppable in the team event together with Christian Deuschl and Florian Dagn on Saturday.

After the jumping part, Team Norway with Harald Riiber, Lars Ivar Skaarset, Simen Tiller and Sindre Ure Soetvik was still slightly ahead of the hosting Austrians. Both Riiber and Soetvik landed their jump on 105.5 m and  achieved the longest distances of the day. But especially with yesterday’s jumping round winner Christian Deuschl's jump of 105 m and Philipp Orter's 100.5 m were able to keep the Austrians in the game and keep the disadvantage on team Norway at only 13 seconds. Third after jumping was team Slovenia with Ozbej Jelen, Rok Jelen, Marjan Jelenko and Vid Vrhovnik, who were all able to show a good performance on the hill.

Other than in FIS Nordic Combined World Cup the cross-country race was held in the new 5 km, 2x 2.5 km and 5 km format as a test. Austria’s first competitor Orter was able to make up the disadvantage on team Norway already on his first lap and handed over to his teammate Deuschl 4.7 seconds ahead of the Scandinavians.

Norway’s second competitor, Harald Riiber, however, was able to take the lead again on his lap, followed closely by Deuschl. Also Dagn and Soetvik in the third group were able to stay together throughout their lap. In the end it was once again Austria’s Gerstgraser, who was able to shake off Norway’s Skaarset in their last lap and celebrate yet another victory.

While Slovenia was able to stay on the third positions the first three legs, Vrhovnik had to let Germany’s Jakob Lange pass by on the last climb, what brought Germany with Justin Moczarski, Jonas Maier and Jonas Welde to the third place. Slovenia on fourth, France on fifth and Italy on sixth position rounded up the top six.
