The FIS Youth Cup Finals 2018/19 will take place in Trondheim. As in the past few winters, young female and male athletes will fight for the last points in the overall rankings and have the honor to receive their prizes from the best Nordic Combined athletes in the World in a common prize giving ceremony. For the first time ever, the young athletes will have a Mass Start on their competition calendar, which gives them the opportunity to test a "new" format in the same season it makes its return to the World Cup calendar.

Initially planned in Knyken (NOR), the FIS Youth Cup was specifically moved back to Trondheim when the Norwegian organisers agreed to host a full Nordic Combined weekend in January.

“The change of venue and date for the NC YouthCup was done in close cooperation with the Norwegian Ski Association and both Knyken and Trondheim as organisers”, FIS Race Director Lasse Ottesen explains.

“We have seen great FIS Youth Cup events in Trondheim in the last years. Most of the positive feedback from teams and the athletes themselves was that the final prize giving ceremony together with the World Cup athletes is really exciting and very important to them. As first ever winter Nordic Combined Youth Cup organiser, and with the experience that the Oorganising Committee in Trondheim has, we feel very confident that this year’s edition will be another great success for Nordic Combined.”

Together with the Viessmann FIS Nordic Combined World Cup on location, visitors can look forward to a full Nordic Combined weekend with a lot of action going on at Granåsen in Trondheim.

“We are very happy to be the host for the FIS Youth Cup Finals again", says OC Project Manager Bjørn Morseth. "We think that the Youth Cup for boys and girls is one of the most important steps to develop the young athlets and especially to built up Ladies' Nordic Combined as an Olympic discipline. We are proud to be a part of this journey. And we also finally have the Nordic Combined World Cup on a weekend! This is will be a fantastic event for us, the athletes and also for the spectators.”
