Both, the newly-minted 2019 World Champion Eric Frenzel and his teammate Johannes Rydzek will miss the upcoming Holmenkollen weekend in Oslo (NOR). Due to a virus infection, both athletes will be sidelined for the Individual Gundersen event on schedule in Oslo.

“Unfortunately the last period of the season will start without me, a viral infection makes starting in Oslo impossible. It really is a shame as the event in Oslo is always a highlight for us. Holmenkollen is a very special place for us, not only because of the longstanding skiing tradition but also because of the large crowds. I will be crossing my fingers for my teammates and hope to be well again to start in the season finals in Schonach”, Eric Frenzel said.

“I am not yet back in the right shape to compete after a viral infection”, Johannes Rydzek added. “I hope I can recover well not to be able to close the season in a good way at the World Cup finals in Schonach.”

The German team will be on start in Norway with only five athletes: Fabian Rießle, Manuel Faißt, Vinzenz Geiger and Terence Weber will be joined by Junior World Champion Julian Schmid.
