A total of eleven athletes will be on start at the Viessmann FIS Nordic Combined World Cup finals in Schonach. Among them are two true local heroes with Fabian Rießle and Manuel Faißt, who will do their utmost to delight the audience with good performances. Especially Manuel Faißt proved to be in good shape with his fourth position in Oslo last weekend, and a 7-3 finish in Schonach last year should give Fabian Rießle hope to perform well at his home venue.

The following athletes will start in Schonach:

- Manuel Faißt
- Vinzenz Geiger
- Fabian Rießle
- Johannes Rydzek
- Julian Schmid
- Terence Weber

National Group
- Simon Hüttel
- Luis Lehnert
- David Mach
- Justin Moczarski
- David Welde

World Champion Eric Frenzel is still struggling with a viral infection and has ended his season.

Head coach Hermann Weinbuch: Schonach is a special challenge as a home World Cup with many spectators and an incredibly fantastic atmosphere. It will be a hard competition at the end of the season. All athletes are a bit tired and the Black Forest region will await them with not the easiest weather forecast. Nevertheless, we are very much looking forward to the traditional “Schwarzwaldpokal”. Any Nordic Combined athlete would like to engrave his name on this trophy. We and especially the local heroes from this region will be fully motivated and will try to give everything for the last time this winter.”
