Jarl Riiber returns strong to win PCR in Chaux-Neuve

Norway’s Jarl Riiber returned after his short competition break on the past weekend to win the Provisional Competition Round with a the longest jump of the round: 117 metres meant a point total of 133 points and a narrow head start of four seconds on Austrian Franz-Josef Rehrl. Rehrl showed 113 metres from one gate lower than his competitors after a coach request and amassed 131.9 points. Espen Bjørnstad was third with a distance of 115 metres and 130.9 points.

21 athletes would start within one minute if the Provisional Competition Round should be used on the weekend, from Jan Schmid on rank four (+0:10) to Johannes Rydzek on rank 21 with +0:57. Fabian Rießle shone with a good jump of 113 metres and had an excellent starting position with rank five and a delay of eleven seconds. Einar Lurås Oftebro returned to strong jumping after he the jumping hill in Val di Fiemme did not agree with him at all last weekend.

Per the TRIPLE rules, the PCR was not a qualification today, so all athletes are starting in the following competition round and 5 km race later today.
