The Nordic Combined World and Continental Cup organisers in Klingenthal (GER) are starting to prepare in earnest for the upcoming winter season. Since last Wednesday, the giant snow nets have been installed on the Vogtlandarena’s HS 140 large hill - an important process that is only possible with the help of the VSC Klingenthal team and many helpers.

The snow nets are important to ensure that the snow does not slide down the 150 metre-long hill and landing area. The huge nets cover a total area of 4.000 square metres. They have been stored on 10 big spools next to the takeoff and were lowered down the hill on a steel cable. With this step, the preparation for the upcoming winter season enters the critical phase.

Klingenthal is gearing up for their season highlight, the FIS Nordic Combined World Cup at the beginning of February. As last year, fans can look forward to a huge World Cup spectacle with the outrun of the Vogtlandarena being transformed into the start and finish for the cross-country races.

Who cannot wait this long to watch some Nordic Combined and Ski Jumping action can visit the FIS Continental Cups in both disciplines, taking place simultaneously from the 4th to the 6th of January.

The ticket sale for the World Cup event has already started and early bird tariffs are still available. The tickets also allow a visit of the Continental Cup events in January.  Visit www.weltcup-klingenthal.de for more details.
