Kupczak triumphs at Polish nationals

A set of medals for the Polish Nordic Combined Championships was handed out in Zakopane last weekend. Szczepan Kupczak won the title on the Great Krokiew hill, showing a fantastic jump of 139 meters. In the race, the 26-year-old held on to his pole position and finally crossed the finish line as the winner, taking a career-first national title.

Adam Cieślar reached 130,5 m in the competition on the hill, which had him start one minute and one second after Kupczak but was not able to narrow the gap at all. He finsihed one minute and 1.3 seconds after Kupzcak. The podium was completed by Wojciech Marusarz, who jumped at 129.5 meters on Wielka Krokwia in Zakopane and reached the finish line two minutes after the winner.

Pawel Twardosz was the fastest athlete on the track and needed 15:31.6 for the 10 km of roller-skiing. He improved from rank 13 to the final 4th position in the starting field of 18 athletes.
