The K 60 jumping hill in Predazzo in Val di Fiemme (ITA) appears in a new splendor. A total of five jumping hills are in the village in middle of the valley, the three smaller ones got a "refreshment cure", a renovation and a new inrun track. Since the Nordic Combined and Ski Jumping World Cup events are held on the larger hills, the K 60 hill had not been in operation since 2001. Both, a sideband and the homologation by the FIS, were missing. Since springtime, the reconstruction work has been done on the hill and this Thursday it was finally time for the first jumps on the new inrun.

The feedback of the young athletes was consistently positive and the chief of ski jumping in Predazzo, Sandro Pertile was very happy with the outcome as well: "We have been working hard for this project for the past 15 years, and finally we have got the financial resources. The ski jumping hill had not been in operation since 2011, our junior athletes had to go to Stams in the summer and to Seefeld in the winter. Now they can finally train here at home. The new building is also a first important step for the Olympic candidacy. If Milan would get the Olympic Games in 2026, then a whole new era will start in Predazzo.“

In addition to the Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined World Cup, which is held once a year in Val di Fiemme, Predazzo is considered to be an important location for young nordic talents in the Italian Ski Association. Most recently, Predazzo made headlines for the Olympic bid in 2026 from Milan. Should the Games be awarded to Milan, the competitions in Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined will be held in Predazzo.

For Peter Riedel of Peter Riedel GmbH, the company in charge of installing the inrun track, the project was a special one as well: "I am pleased that we have been awarded to build the inrun for the K60 in Predazzo. Jumping hills for the juniors are always a special matter of the heart for me. Moreover, this is the first project for our company in Italy, which is something special. Thanks to the responsible persons.“

This weekend, the first competition the Italian Youth Championships are set to take place on the new hill.
