The steady development of the Nordic Combined sport for ladies in in progress also in the winter of 2018/19. With three Continental Cup events and six competitions already in the books, the Nordic Combined ladies are now about to make the next historic steps: the discipline’s first official ladies’ medals are on the line at the FIS Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in Lahti (FIN) tomorrow.

33 athletes from 14 nations are on start in Finland and went through two days of training and a Provisional Competition Round already. Tomorrow’s jumping competition round is scheduled for 11:00 local time (10:00 CET), the 5 km race will follow at 15:30 local time (14:30 CET). Live streaming of the event is available at https://www.oz.com/jwsc2019.

Norway’s Gyda Westvold Hansen topped the Provisional Competition Round with 93 metres (112.1 p.) on Lahti’s HS 100 hill and would take the lead with seven seconds, should the PCR be used tomorrow in case of adverse weather conditions. Germany’s Anna Jäkle was second with 89 metres (110.4 p.) and teammate Jenny Nowak claimed position three with a jump of 90.5 m.109.7 points would mean a start delay of ten seconds for the German. In a tight result, Japan’s Ayane Miyazaki was only 14 seconds behind Westvold Hansen and Austrian jumping prodigy Lisa Hirner would start at +0:20 after a slightly weaker jump of 90 m (107.2 p.) in the PCR.
