Nordic Combined tour comes to an end in Schonach | FIS Nordic Combined

Japan’s Akito Watabe clinched the first overall World Cup for 23 years in Klingenthal and now the countdown has just started ahead of the very last FIS Nordic Combined World Cup stage on March 24-25 in Germany’s Schonach. The 52nd edition of the famous Schwarzwaldpokal will take place on Saturday followed by the HS 106/15 km. Gundersen season-finale on Sunday. Nordic Combined is a winter sport in which athletes compete in both cross-country skiing and ski jumping. The first major competition in Nordic combined was held in 1892 in Oslo at the first Holmenkollen Ski Festival, an event still held annually. The sport was included at the 1924 Winter Olympics, and has been on the programme ever since.
