Runggaldier with maiden victory in Nizhny Tagil | FIS Nordic Combined

Italy's Lukas Runggaldier claimed his maiden COC victory in the first Ind. Gundersen event in Nizhny Tagil, Aguri Shimizu (JPN) hits the podium on his birthday and Terence Weber is satisfied with his third place. Nordic Combined is a winter sport in which athletes compete in both cross-country skiing and ski jumping. The first major competition in Nordic combined was held in 1892 in Oslo at the first Holmenkollen Ski Festival, an event still held annually. The sport was included at the 1924 Winter Olympics, and has been on the programme ever since.
