They don't get a lot of attention but their job is one of the most essential ones during the any ski jumping round: the trial jumpers. This edition of "Behind the Scenes" puts them into the well-deserved spotlight, explains the hardships of their task and why trial jumpers are so important. Nordic Combined is a winter sport in which athletes compete in both cross-country skiing and ski jumping. The first major competition in Nordic combined was held in 1892 in Oslo at the first Holmenkollen Ski Festival, an event still held annually. The sport was included at the 1924 Winter Olympics, and has been on the programme ever since.
