World Cup, Japanese style | FIS Nordic Combined

Life on the Nordic Combined World Cup Tour is not always easy, especially when you live so far away, that you can't go home after competitions. In this case, it's good to have your teammates to help you being at home, far away from home, as Team Japan shows in this edition of "Behind the Scenes". Nordic Combined is a winter sport in which athletes compete in both cross-country skiing and ski jumping. The first major competition in Nordic combined was held in 1892 in Oslo at the first Holmenkollen Ski Festival, an event still held annually. The sport was included at the 1924 Winter Olympics, and has been on the programme ever since.
