The first international FIS competition of the winter is in the books. USA’s Tara Geraghty-Moats is the winner of the FIS event in Falun (SWE). In a combined Ski Jumping / Nordic Combined jumping round, 27 women were on start, 13 of which took part in the final cross-country race as well. The event was hosted by the local organisers in Lugnet, Falun in cooperation with the Norwegian Ski Association, who held a Norges Cup event for men and the ski jumping part of the Norwegian national championships at the same venue at the same time.

Thea Minyan Bjørseth took the lead after the jumping part of the event in which she showed 83.5 metres (99 p.). Out of the women doing Nordic Combined, Marte Leinan Lund had the second best jump with 82 metres (87.5 p.), followed by Veronica Gianmoena with 78 metres and 85.5 points. Tara Geragthy-Moats did not have the best jump with 77 metres and started her race with a delay of  46 seconds on Minyan Bjørseth.

Her usual strong skiing performance made up for the deficit and then some in the following cross-country race. Faster than the next-fastest woman by almost two minutes, Geraghty-Moats won the event in 14:53, one minute and 49 seconds ahead of runner-up Veronica Gianmoena. Thea Minyan Bjørseth salvaged a third place by finishing at +01:56. Sisters Marte and Mari Leinand Lund claimed ranks four and five, while Nora and Hanna Midtsundstad ranked sixth and seventh out of the 13 women on start in the Nordic Combined event.
