The Norwegian Nordic Combined teams concluded a busy week with two Norges Cup competitions in Oslo, the last featuring the famous Sognsvann-test cross run as the cross-country part.

On the women’s side, Gyda Westvold Hansen continues her domination of the team. The 17-year-old won both events with great ski jumping efforts (104.5 and 98 m) on the HS 106 jumping hill in Midtstuen, which put her in the pole position for both races.

On the first day, Westvold Hansen started with a head start of one minute and 20 seconds on runner-up Marte Leinan Lund (94.5 m) and Thea Minyan Bjørseth (78.5 m) followed three minutes and four seconds later. Westvold Hansen extended her advantage on Leinan Lund to one minute and 30 seconds at the finish line of the 5 km roller-ski race. Mari Leinan Lund wrestled the third place from Minyan Bjørseth by finishing three minutes and 22 seconds after Westvold Hansen.

In the Sognsvann-testen, Westvold Hansen conquered the distance in 20:58, beating Mari Leinan Lund by one minute and 54 seconds in the end. Marte Leinan Lund was third that day and finished two minutes and 51 seconds after the winner.

On the men’s side, Espen Andersen was the clear winner of the jumping portion with 102.5 metres, 10 points ahead of Espen Bjørnstad, who reached 100.5 metres. Simen Kvarstad was third with 95 metres.
