In the framework of the annual outfitting for Austrian Ski Association athletes at the Europapark in Salzburg, the 40th “Goldene Teekanne” Award Ceremony was held. The trophy is awarded to the most popular Austrian winter sports athletes, voted by the general public.

Alpine star Marcel Hirscher won in the Alpine Men category for the 8th time, while Nici Schmidhofer took the win in the Alpine Women category. For Nordics, Stefan Kraft was awarded with the Golden Teepot, the third award of this kind for him.

After his medal haul in Seefeld 2019 and the Summer Grand Prix victory just some weeks ago, Nordic Combined shooting star Franz-Josef Rehrl received the extra honour of the silver teepot for the best newcomer.

“For the 40th year in a row, the Austrian public has chosen their favourite snow sports athletes. The most popular athletes of the year do not only convince with their performances but with their personalities”, TEEKANNE’s Marketing Director Dr. Michael Lehrer said. “We are one team with the Austrian Ski Association, our common love being the cold season. It is wonderful to see how the nation is backing up their ski stars.”
