Successful FIS Junior World Ski Championships end in Oberwiesenthal

A week of very successful Nordic Combined events at the FIS Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in Oberwiesenthal (GER) comes to an end. Highlight of the week-long event was the premiere of the Nordic Combined Mixed Team on the FIS Junior World Ski Championship level. This week marks the first time medals were awarded in the event in Nordic Combined.

Key Facts

  • Medal table: Norway was the most successful nation in Nordic Combined with two gold medals, one silver and one bronze, followed by Austria (one gold, one silver, one bronze), Germany (one gold, one silver), France (one silver, one bronze) and Japan (one bronze)

  • Most successful athletes women: Jenny Nowak (GER) and Gyda Westvold Hansen (NOR) won one gold and one silver medal each.

  • Most successful athletes men: Johannes Lamparter (AUT) claimed one gold and one silver, while Gael Blondeau (FRA) was responsible for one silver and one bronze medal. Norwegians Sebastian Østvold and Andreas Skoglund came away with two team medals: gold in the Mixed Team and bronze in the men's Team Event.
