Summer competition season set to begin

The Nordic Combined summer competition season 2019 will begin on the upcoming weekend with the first OPA Alpencup events of the season. Klingenthal and Bischofsgrün will host events for Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined Women in the framework of a summer tour.

59 athletes from seven nations are entered for the kick-off event in Klingenthal, out if which 35 will start in the Nordic Combined event as well. They are coming from Austria, the Czech Republic, Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Slovenia and Switzerland. The Alpen Cup events are open internationally for women.

Athletes born between 2000 and 2007 will jump on the HS 85 Vogtlandschanze, which will also be in use for the women’s Summer Grand Prix event in Klingenthal later this summer. The cross-country part will be a 3 km cross-run close to the Waldhotel Vogtland.

The athletes will arrive in Klingenthal on the 3rd of August and can take advantage of a free training from 14:00 until 17:00. The official training starts on Sunday at 10:00 and the second training jump counts as a PCR for the Nordic Combined event. The Nordic Combined competition is planned for the 5th of August with a starting time of 10:45 for the jumping round and 14:00 for the cross-country run. The entry in Klingenthal is free.

The event in Bischofsgrün is planned for the 9th of August with the ski jumping competition round starting at 16:30 and the 3 km roller-ski race taking place at the roller ski track in Neubau at 19:00.
