The new Austrian Continental Cup coaching staff Willi Denifl and Thomas Baumann took their squad out for the third training camp of the season. The camp in Tyrol featured roller ski sessions in Seefeld and ski jumping training at Bergisel in Innsbruck but also a session of a different kind.

The Adventurepark Stubai was the location of a team-building session which took the athletes on an adventure trail where for example a high wall had to be climbed together.

“I think it is essential to show the boys that everyone can only improve within a team. Of course we are individual athletes but especially during the training phases, the contact to the teammates is extremely important. The Adventurepark Stubai was a great place to learn this while having fun”, new coach Willi Denifl said.

“I am feeling very comfortable in my new role as a coach even though it is a bit of a change. Formerly, I just had to deal with myself, now I have seven athletes to take care of and organise everything together with my coaching partner Thomas Baumann. But this first camps were very good and I was positively surprised to see how well the athletes cooperation and act as a team”, Denifl continued.

World Cup experienced Dominik Terzer values the drive within the team: “We are a really great group, everybody is roughly the same age and we’ve known each other for a while. I think this is important to have a training on a high qualitative level. The input coming from our coaches is great. Willi has a lot of experience from his long career and Baumi has been a World Cup coach for some years, so he has great insights, too. I like to be a part of this and look forward to the winter.
