Today’s snow control in Ramsau am Dachstein resulted in a green light for the Viessmann FIS Nordic Combined and Ski Jumping World Cups.

With Snow Controller Robert Krautgartner’s decision, the events are now set and the last preparations will continue for the Women’s Nordic Combined World Cup premiere, the season opener event for Women’s Ski Jumping and the second weekend of the men’s Nordic Combined calendar.

Krautgartner reported: “The OC has sufficient snow at the sports facilities, and in a depot. On the hill, the inrun track was milled into the ice block inrun and the cooling system is working as foreseen. Artificial snow with a snow depth of  30–35 cm covers the landing area and outrun. Machine snow and natural snow were mixed after some snowfalls. The snow cover is compact and hard.”

Also on the cross-country course and in the stadium, the conditions are good. “Artificial snow with a depth of 30 –35 cm also covers the track. The underground is 10 cm of natural snow. Also here, machine snow and natural snow were mixed after snowfall in the last few days. The tracks are compact and hard.”

With the current minus temperatures, the organisers continue to produce snow and have formed snow depots near the jumping hill and at the top of the course. Both sports facilities have been used for training since December 3rd.
