The Nordic Combined athletes will fight for World Cup points on February 5th and 6th in the Sparkasse Vogtland Arena in Klingenthal (GER).

In a recent organizing committee meeting, further details have been worked out. The basis for the competitions from February 5 to 7, 2021 are the FIS Covid-19 prevention guidelines concept. Building on this, the requirements of the German Ski Association must be complied with. Above all are the regional regulations, which must be complied with under all circumstances.

“All of this presents us with great challenges, but we are confident that we can do it, especially since we are supported as best as possible by the local authorities. But we definitely want to give the athletes the opportunity to show their top performances in competitions, ”said OC Secretary General Alexander Ziron.

It is still uncertain whether spectators will be able to attend the competitions. If this is possible, the tickets will only be sold online shortly before the World Cup to ensure that any infections can be tracked. There will definitely not be a box office.

The hosting ski club,VSC Klingenthal, also began the targeted preparation of the competition venue. The snow cannons were set in motion in the Sparkasse Vogtland Arena. In particular in the night hours, when temperatures drop to at least minus three degrees, are used by employees and helpers for snow production.
