Kuttin to join German World Cup team, Ackermann leaves
May 12, 2020·Nordic CombinedBig news from Team Germany: Austrian Heinz Kuttin, who most recently worked with the Chinese women's Ski Jumping team and was discussed as the new Ski Jumping coach in France, will be joining the German Nordic Combined World Cup team as a jumping coach from this season onwards instead.
The 49-year-old, who coached the men's Ski Jumping teams of Austria and Poland in the past and also coached in the German Ski Federation as B-team coach from 2006 to 2008, will replace Nordic Combined legend Ronny Ackermann on the World Cup staff. Head coach Hermann Weinbuch and Assistant Kai Bracht will continue in their roles.
Heinz Kuttin: “I am very much looking forward to this new task. The discipline of Nordic Combined has been a guarantee for success in the German Ski Federation for many years. I would like to contribute to continuing this success story in the future.”
Team Manager Horst Hüttel: “We were able to engage a specialist in his field and an experienced Ski Jumping coach for our World Cup team. The coaching staff around Hermann Weinbuch, Kai Bracht and Heinz Kuttin has a high competence which all athletes will be able to benefit from.”
Ronny Ackermann: “The potential of the team is very high and I think the athletes will be able to tap into it again with new impulses. This is why I decided to make way for a change in the coaching team.” Ackermann, who was part of the coaching staff since 2011 is currently in talks with Sports Director Sepp Buchner to find another position within the system of the German Ski Federation.
Support for Klaus Edelmann on the women’s team
The German Ski Federation is also investing in the women’s team. Head coach Klaus Edelmann will be supported by Nico Reichenberger in the upcoming season. Reichenberger has been in charge of the men’s B team so far and will help Edelmann care for the women’s A-team from now on.
