Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Nordic Combined Awards 2020 could not be handed over in the customary form last winter - on the evening of the last competition day of the World Cup Finals in Schonach. On the first weekends of the men’s and women’s Nordic Combined World Cup seasons, the trophies could finally be handed over to their rightful owners:

Jarl Magnus Riiber received the “Athlete of the Year” and “Moment of the Year” Awards for his performances, especially his record-breaking day in Trondheim last winter. Jens Lurås Oftebro was recognised as “Rookie of the Year” while the coaching staff around head coach Peder Sandell was voted “Coach of the Year”. Tara Geraghty-Moats received her second “Athlete of the Year” Award for a record-breaking Continental Cup season 2019/20.

Also in 2020/21, the Awards will return - albeit in the same digital form that they had after the cancellation of Schonach last winter. A journalist jury consisting of eleven members from eight nations will vote for their favourites in the categories:

- Athlete of the Year
- Rookie of the Year
- Moment of the Year
- Coach of the Year

With the start of the FIS Nordic Combined World Cup for women, in all categories one male and one female winner will be chosen.

The jury consists of:

Roman Knoblauch - Eurosport Germany
José Manuel Hérnandez - Eurosport Spain
Saho Kobayashi - Jiji Press Japan
Paolo Romano - Fondo Italia
Eric Roos - Sportinformationsdienst Germany
Fred Børre Lundberg - NRK Norway
Marit Nybelius - Eurosport Sweden
Anton Oberndorfer - ORF Austria
Editorial Team - NordicMagazine France

and two new members with special expertise in Women’s Nordic Combined:

Linda Striebing - ARD Germany
Luis Holuch - FIS Livestream Commentator & Editor

Also the fans and the public will have one vote in each category.

The Awards winners will be announced via the FIS Nordic Combined social media channels after the season end.
