Training crash ends Veronica Gianmoena’s World Championship ambitions

Veronica Gianmoena’s dreams of participating in the women’s Nordic Combined World Championship premiere have been dashed right before the event. A crash during ski jumping training in Predazzo in lead to a broken collarbone for the 25-year-old Italian team leader. With the focus now on rehabilitation of the injury, Gianmoena's season 2020/21 has been cut short.

“I didn't predict this, but it happened and I can't do anything but accept it. An accident that came at absolutely the wrong time but all that remains is to roll up my sleeves and face this obstacle too. Heartfelt thanks to everyone for the love and support, you have filled me with strength and energy”, Gianmoena posted on her social media channels after the accident.
