Ryota Yamamoto has been the best jumper also in Lahti’s PCR which was held on Friday afternoon. The Japanese jumped 126 metres and collected a total of 121.2 points for his efforts. If the PCR has to be used in case of bad weather, he will have an advantage of 24 seconds on Espen Bjørnstad, who jumped 129 metres but only received 115.3 points in better wind conditions.

Yoshito Watabe was third with 124.5 metres (114.7 p.) and would begin his race 26 seconds after his teammate. France’s Laurent Muhlethaler continued in strong jumping shape with 123.5 metres and claimed rank five ahead of Terence Weber on rank six.

Strong Germans Fabian Rießle and Vinzenz Geiger convinced in difficult wind conditions towards the end of the PCR: they claimed positions six and eight with potential start disadvantages of +0:58 and +1:03. Teammate Eric Frenzel was 13th with +1:15. Veteran Bernhard Gruber claimed position twelve with 116.5 metres and a start delay of +1:14. Alessandro Pittin was also in the mix with rank 15 (+1:18).

The losers of the PCR were Japan’s Akito Watabe who had to wait a long time for his jump and then only reached 111 metres and World Cup leader Jarl Magnus Riiber whose difficulties with Lahti continue: he jumped 114 metres and ended up on position 23. He would start with a delay of two minutes alongside Watabe, whose delay was +2:04. Also Jens Lurås Oftebro was not lucky and landed already at 108 metres: rank 26 for the Norwegian youngster.

As only 50 athletes started in the PCR today, everyone is qualified for Sunday’s Individual Gundersen event.
