Riiber unbeatable on Day 1 in Ruka

Jarl Magnus Riiber is the winner of the first day of the Ruka Tour 2021.

In -12°C, close to the polar circle in Ruka/Finland, the Norwegian jumped to 140.5 meters (149.2 points) and positioned closely ahead of Mario Seidl.
The Austrian, who reached a new personal best with 148 meters in the trial round, proofed his strength on the hill one more time. 141 meters and 148.9 points made Seidl stay in front of the leader board for a long time, until Riiber took over.

The Norwegian was the first one to go into the 5 km Cross-Country course, only 1 second ahead of Seidl. 
Soon a gap was formed and Riiber secured the victory with a strong performance on the two 2.5km rounds, reaching the finish line 20.2 seconds ahead.

Seidl couldn’t keep up with the high pace and was caught by PCR winner Johannes Lamparter, who placed 4th after jumping, took the second place in a tight finish sprint against Jens Luras Oftebro (+22.2 sec), who placed 3rd. Seidl came finished the race on rank 4.

Rank 3 after Ski Jumping was taken by Manuel Faisst, who showed the furthest competition jump with 143 meters (146.6 pts). The German started into the race 10 seconds behind the leader, but was caught by his pursuers. He finished the race on the 5th rank.

The fasted skiing time was reached by Julian Schmid from Germany, who placed on the 13th rank in the end.
