Norway celebrated a podium sweep at the second Continental Cup competition this weekend in Ruka.

On Sunday, Einar Lurås Oftebro took the first place ahead of Sebastian Østvold and Saturdays winner Andreas Skoglund on third rank.

With 139.5 m (148.3 pts) Østvold jumped the furthest distance of the day and took the lead after the Ski Jumping round. Oftebro placed second with 136 m and a total of 145 points, which gave him a 13 sec backlog on his Norwegian team mate.
Christian Deuschl from Austria placed third with a jump to 135 m (137.6 pts, +43 sec), while Skoglund (128 m, 128.7 pts) was 1:18 min behind the leader at the start of the cross-country race in Northern Finland.

In the end, Østvold wasn’t able to defend his lead and finished the race 28.9 sec behind his team mate Oftebro, who secured another victory for Norway.
Rank 3 went to Andreas Skoglund who reduced his backlog on the leader during the race to 41.9 sec.
The fastest skiing time of the day was shown by Lars Buraas (+45.9 sec) on 4th place, with 25:25.4 min for the 10 km course, who was on rank 11 after the jumping round and completed the top 4 result for Norway.

Local hero Leevi Mutru (+50.3 sec), who placed third on Saturday, continued his strong performance also during Sunday's race and came in 5th in the end.

Einar Lurås Oftebro:
“The day was a little better than yesterday. I’ve been sick for the past couple of weeks, so it was nice to get on the podium on both race days.”
