Gyda Westvold Hansen is the winner of the first Women’s Individual Gundersen of the FIS Summer Grand Prix in Oberhof/Germany today.

After heavy rain during the PCR on Friday, the weather was gracious to the teams and spectators. 22 athletes from eight nations started the competition with a Ski Jump on the Kanzlergrund HS100 under dry and sunny conditions.

With 91.5 meters Lisa Hirner from Austria took the lead after jumping. The Austrian reached a total of 111.6 points and was the first one to start into the 5 km roller ski race in Steinbach-Hallenberg.

Annika Sieff (107.7 pts) from Italy followed Hirner with a 16 second backlog, after her jump on 89 meters and a second place. World Champion Gyda Westvold Hansen (94 mts, 106.2 pts) from Norway placed third and went into the race 22 seconds after Hirner.

In the race, Hirner and Westvold Hansen showed a similar picture to that of the men and formed a leading group. The two ran a lonely race at the front, in which the Norwegian was only able to prevail in the finish sprint by 0.3 seconds.
Sieff defended her podium position and came in third, with a 25.2 second backlog.
